The Old
The NFL had a really crappy overtime rule about whoever scores first wins. This essential meant whoever won the coin toss would win the game. Who wants fate to decide the winner? We want the best team to win.
The New
With the new rules, the game essentially gets a new quarter. It allows both teams to try scoring and if the first team doesn’t score and the second team doesn’t score, then they keep on playing for 15 minutes until someone does.
The Future
The future seems to be a much more fair NFL overtime. I would like to see it in the regular season as this year it wasn’t and both fans and the 49rs had no idea what to expect.
